“Why retreat when I could just take a spa day?”
Someone asked me this the other day. I have a feeling it might be a question a lot of you will ask yourselves, and I’ll give it to you, it’s a great one. When “retreat” has become such a fad word and self-care is something every millennial is talking about in their local coffee shop (okay, guilty), it can be easy to brush it off as the next macdonaldized experience that’s really only sure to lighten your wallet.
I hear you.
I also work in a field that let’s me get the inside view on where so many of us stand mentally, emotionally, and physically these days – and what it boils down to is this, here’s your next fad term (seems like when we pull away the stigma, these fads are really onto something that we're all in need of!), we’re OVERWORKED and STRESSED.
So, while I am not here to say that a spa day isn’t important, when you ask me, “why should I do a retreat when I could just take a spa day?”, this is my reply:
Surely this list could go on and on, but I feel these are five key reasons to consider gifting yourself a retreat.
And yes, I write this because I am offering one, and yes, I am proud to be doing so. It means the world to me to have the means and knowledge to give you a chance to take advantage of everything I’ve described here – to give you the time and space to get out and press pause.
